Helping Hand

Image
On the 27th Decemeber Vicki, Paul, Shane and his g/f Mel drove up from Sydney to help Elliot in the backyard, which was really really nice of them. The backyard has turned out to be an enourmomus job and it would have taken Elliot months to do it by himself (although we didn't know this before we started). While the boys were outside every day working hard (and drinking beer), us girls sat in the lovely air con and chatted! Vicky is doing amazing with her weight lose, and had lost almost 40kgs in only a matter of months! You go girl! Here are some pics of their stay and of the work thats been going on: The night they arrived we all went out to dinner at Sizzler at the Hyperdome. Leah, Bran and the kids came along too. Afterwards they all came back to our house, crazy times LOL. Here are some pics: They left to go home today - thanks again guys, we really appreciated your help!

Sammy's First Christmas

Merry First Christmas Sammy! Well Samuel celebrated his first christmas this year. Although it didn't feel like Christmas at all, it will be better next year (Ells promised). Samuel was kind and slept through again for his Mummy. After I got him up and fed, I dressed him up as Santa. This time he didn't cry after I put the hat on. Isn't he just the cutest Santa ever? Poor Elliot had to keep working on the backyard, as it is in a bad state at the moment and we didn't really want to drag th dogs over to Springfield. So at about 11am Samuel and I drove over to Naomi's for a christmas lunch. As usual Leah (with the help from Na) cooked a scumpcious roast....Im drooling just thinking about those potatoes. After lunch Naomi took us outside to try out her new camera - its magical! We got some really funny shots, especially when I came up with the idea of relaxing my lips by flapping them together (hard to explain LOL) and Naomi caught it on camera and it looked so hilari...

Sam's the Man!

Doing an update while my bubba is sleeping next to me on the lounge. Dont want to get into a habit of letting him sleep out here but we're getting an aircon installed in his room this week to help with the heat. Its just SO hot in here, having a tin roof and all. Well Samuel is just over 10 weeks old. Its hard to believe that in 2 weeks he will be 3 months! WOW. He certainly isn't new anymore! He changes so much every day. Last night I got two great things. His first laugh - oh my, it was SOOOOOOOOO cute. I almost cried when he was doing it :) He was in the bath sitting in his bath seat and I was standing up (giving my poor back a rest) over the bath when i got the wet facewash and i said "one, two, three" and then let it fall onto his face. I then ripped it off and he cracked up haha. I did it a few more times and I called Ell in and he witnessed the laugh. He couldnt wipe the smile off his face! Also, Sammy slept through for the first time last night. He went to bed...

Sammy is 2 months!

Well my little man is 2 months old! Although it does feel like he has been in our lives forever! Thought I would do an update on us while Samuel is having a sleep. He is such a good baby, and I noticed this since we made the fulltime switch to formula. I tried with b/f but it just wasnt working for us. S is such a more contented and happy baby. S had his 2 month needles the other day and it was the hardest thing I have had to do! I had to hold his poor little legs down while they stuck the needles in him. The first one was bad and he cried but stopped pretty much straight away, but the second one OMG He screamed so loud and his face went bright red and he was so sad.... :( It took me 10 mins to soothe him. Im defiantely not looking forward to his 4 month needles. He is almost sleeping through the night now! Bedtime is between 7-730pm, and I follow the bath, bottle, bed routine. This has helped him realise bedtime is approaching and he starts to unwind! He will generally sleep until bet...
