An update on Sam

Image
I thought I would do a blog entry just on Sam and his development. Samuel is now 3.5 years old and has just grown so much right in front of our eyes! He has shot right up and is talking really really well. I think its mainly just his lack of pronunciations of certain letters that is slowing him down a bit. We were finally offered a spot with Logan Speech Therapy after almost 2 years of being on the waiting list. We have been having fortnightly appointments a couple of months now.The last time we were there Sam was 2 yrs 9 months. On his first visit Sam and Olivia (therapist) sat down at the table and went through a book of about 50 pictures and Sam had to name them all. He answered pretty much every single one and as he was saying the word she would write down the way he pronounced it in her book. Basically in the end all the pronounciation mistakes he's making is completely normal for his age. As he gets older these mistakes should correct thems...

The new face of Griffith Business School - ME!

Image
It is absolutely perfect for me and a great way to ease my way back into the workforce. I work Mon-Thurs 9am - 3pm. I have time to come home first and tidy up and start dinner. Once that is done I then pick the boys up and we eat dinner straight away. It helps when Im organised though! I am loving being back at work and have met some really nice people there. I share a large office with a lady called Sharon and everyone I meet has been with Griffith for many years. So I feel this could be a long term career. I am at the Logan campus so it only takes me about 20 minutes to get there. The boys are adjusting well to the change and I am just loving after some 'me' time. I feel happier and calmer. Speaking of the boys and care, this is their new plan: The boys are in daycare Tuesday and Thursday. Mondays they are at home with Vicki as she kindly offered to mind them. I think its going great and the boys have definitely warmed to her and adore her. And Wednesdays...

Our new investment!

A couple of days ago we signed the contracts to become half owners, with Vicki & Paul, of an investment house! We hadn't been looking for long but managed to score this house in Collingwood Park at a great price. The idea is to rent it out to Els brother Shane and his girlfriend and bubba. But it is an ideal situation, only minutes from Redbank plaza, primary school just down the road and the park just a short walk away. I would actually love to move in there myself!
