Camping @ Brunswick Heads - waterfront style!

Image
Challenge 101 - go camping with a newborn - CHECK! Well we went down to our usual spot down at Brunswick Heads on Friday as we had a waterfront site booked in for the long weekend. We didn't leave as early as we would have liked so got stuck in a bit of traffic but we finally made it around 5pm. Some lovely neighbour campers came and offered a hand setting up the tent as they could obviously see I had my hands full and it was starting to go dark. The kids always act like turds when we first arrive at camping. Getting used to their new surrounds I guess. We unpacked everything and chilled out to take in the beautiful water front view. Elijah was pretty good. I just gave him the boob whenever he needed too, which seemed a lot hehe. We spent the next 2 days just hanging out at the site, laying in the hammock by the river, kids went for scoots and 'detective' walks, swam in the river and many a cups of tea! We notice that from around 3am Elijah is quite unsettl...

Afternoon on the Gold Coast and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

Today we headed down the Gold Coast and took the kids for a play and swim at a popular park. We got our favourite seafood for lunch. Our first trip out and about with Elijah! He was great in the car but definitely needs to be full and content for a long drive. The kids had a ball swimming in the water, until they started throwing sand at each other and Sam got some in his eyes. Elijah fed a bit and then crashed it in his pram. We then drove closer to Surfers Paradise and walked around for a but before we took the kids to Ripley's Museum. They had such a ball and El and I enjoyed reading the facts of weirdo's that have existed or do exist LOL The boys favourite part was the secret spy interactive area. It was a black room that had lasers coming out of the walls. They had to manoeuvre their way around the lasers without setting it off. Elijah did great and slept most of the time. I did master walking around feeding him. We had to stop just before we got on the highway for...

Name: Elijah James DOB: 04/04/16 @ 20:37hrs Due: 21/03/16 Weight: 4.537kg or 10pounds Length: 56cm Gestation: 42 weeks exactly Labour: 4 1/2 hrs Well our littlest man is FINALLY here! He definitely made us wait for it though. Born at exactly 42 weeks after a gel induction. We are utterly smitten with him and so in love. I will leave you with his birth story and will update again soon :) On Monday 4th April it was induction day! I had tried every single thing under the sun to help evict Elijah but he was not going anywhere. I let El go for a ride and I took the boys to a kids disco at the movies. We arrived home later and met Leah and Naomi at ours. El went and got Mum and we left at 1:30pm. We started making our way down to the hospital and arrived at 2:20pm. On the drive down I was receiving some painful Braxton hicks so who knows if that was the start of something already. I met Kelly (student midwife) and after a bit of waiting around we were taken in to a birth ...
