Jamfest 2017

Elliot had a gig today so the boys and I went along to watch. It was held at someone’s property in Mount Nathan. They had a wicked stage set up and a huge fire pit. We had agreed to stay the night so Elliot had setup the tent and everything else that comes with it. As the day rolled on I was becoming quite stressed due to the fact Elijah kept walking up to the stage and touching it, and going into a bush so I was stressing out about spiders etc. I made the call later on to Ell that I would be going home but he could stay with the boys and have a sleepout with them. He was cranky that I had changed my mind but its honestly too stressful with Elijah. It was also starting to get really cold so Elliot decided to come back with us. It was a pain, esp for him, to have to pack it all back up again and I think he felt a bit silly. His set went well and it was great to see him up on stage, jamming it out.

Bunnings Show Day

Image
Today I took the kids down to the Bunnings show day at Bethania. It was quite hot so the kids were getting tired and frustrated easy. Elijah was also hard to contain so I spent most of the time there chasing him around etc. The kids had fun on the jumping castle, mine fire truck ride, farm animal petting zoo, and lining up for half an hour to get a fairy floss stick lol

Oliver's oral restrictions consultation

Image
Today we had Oliver’s consultation at Enhance Dentistry to discuss revision. As suspected he has tongue, lip and 2 x buccal ties. It is clear now as to why I struggled with supply and why he “self weaned” at 8 months. If only I had of known! We had the consult with their Myofacial Therapist who went through everything with me and gave me a clearer understanding of how the ties are impacting him. Everything from mouth breathing, bad breath, posture and facial muscles working. So it was clear we needed to do something. We were sent home with mouth games we needed to do for 4 weeks before revision to strengthen and stretch his muscles, and also a special adhesive dis solvable spot to put in his palate, 3 times a day. I am so glad we finally have answers and can do something about it. Thankfully our private health insurance will cover a lot of the costs. But I would pay it a million times to help Oliver have an easier start to life. I will update after revision day. ...
