Oliver's oral restrictions consultation

Today we had Oliver’s consultation at Enhance Dentistry to discuss revision. As suspected he has tongue, lip and 2 x buccal ties. It is clear now as to why I struggled with supply and why he “self weaned” at 8 months. If only I had of known!

We had the consult with their Myofacial Therapist who went through everything with me and gave me a clearer understanding of how the ties are impacting him. Everything from mouth breathing, bad breath, posture and facial muscles working. So it was clear we needed to do something. We were sent home with mouth games we needed to do for 4 weeks before revision to strengthen and stretch his muscles, and also a special adhesive dis solvable spot to put in his palate, 3 times a day.

I am so glad we finally have answers and can do something about it. Thankfully our private health insurance will cover a lot of the costs. But I would pay it a million times to help Oliver have an easier start to life. I will update after revision day.

Sammy is 2 months!

Well my little man is 2 months old! Although it does feel like he has been in our lives forever! Thought I would do an update on us while Samuel is having a sleep. He is such a good baby, and I noticed this since we made the fulltime switch to formula. I tried with b/f but it just wasnt working for us. S is such a more contented and happy baby. S had his 2 month needles the other day and it was the hardest thing I have had to do! I had to hold his poor little legs down while they stuck the needles in him. The first one was bad and he cried but stopped pretty much straight away, but the second one OMG He screamed so loud and his face went bright red and he was so sad.... :( It took me 10 mins to soothe him. Im defiantely not looking forward to his 4 month needles. He is almost sleeping through the night now! Bedtime is between 7-730pm, and I follow the bath, bottle, bed routine. Mr Timmy came for a visit

34 weeks 6 days Tim was up in QLD for his school rock-band tour and so we decided to meet up for dinner. It had been over a year since we had seen him last. We went to the Glen Hotel and had a nice dinner. A few hours before we had left Samuel fell face first into gravel in the front yard. Poor lil thing was all scratched up. But he was really well behaved considering it was late at night when he's usually fast asleep. Here are some pics:

Merry Christmas Everyone

Just a quick blog post for our Christmas Day at the Johnson Household. We spent the day at home just chilling. The boys opened their presents when they woke up. They got a mountain bike each and a few other bits and pieces and Elijah opened his pressie as well. We had mum over for lunch. It was a nice day :)
